Dive Insight:
A report from ResumeBuilder notes that nine in 10 employers plan to implement return-to-office policies by 2024. While return-to-office mandates gain momentum, facilities managers report a need for data to improve operational efficiency. Access control systems and sensors are increasingly meeting that need.
With its Workspace Occupancy app, Vector Flow says organizations can use the data they already collect via existing physical security and Wi-Fi systems to lower the total cost of ownership and shorten deployment time, founder and CEO Ajay Jain said in the press release.
The app can track and forecast occupancy by department, business unit, personnel type, peak occupancy, day of the week and more, the company says. The app’s insights can better position facilities managers to “plan their space and identify opportunities for cost savings” as well as make more informed decisions regarding office layout, facility planning and resource allocation, the company says.
The app generates reports that organizations can use to conduct audits and comply with reporting requirements such as those on workplace disease outbreaks implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.
