Major league sports teams and associated entertainment venues are increasingly enhancing their facilities, with improvements to safety, security and technology aimed at improving enhance fan experience. Many are also implementing sustainability initiatives, with teams in the National Football League and National Basketball Association recently forging partnerships to provide 100% renewable energy and upgrade HVAC systems, respectively.
Headquartered in New York City, ABM provides janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical, lighting, HVAC, EV charging and other facility services to more than 20,000 global clients, including those operating commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals and data centers. Last year, the company partnered with Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, for event staffing and day-to-day operations. It also manages parking facilities at sites providing over 2,100 parking spaces for the San Francisco Giants’ home ballpark, Oracle Park. ABM’s partnership with Diamondbacks now brings its MLB clientele to around eight MLB teams and over 100 stadium and entertainment venues, the company said.
ABM says that in alignment with the Diamondbacks’ focus on inclusion, it will work to bring in additional partners, including women, minority communities and disadvantaged enterprises like Veteran Building Maintenance & Supply, a janitorial supply distribution business that will provide equipment for Chase Field. ABM noted that it will also help advance the baseball team’s sustainability goals by utilizing green cleaning processes and water and waste management best practices across the venue.
