Dive Insight:
Twenty-eight percent of businesses reported an increase in physical security incidents in 2022, up 20% from 2020, according to the State of Physical Security Entering 2023 report by Pro-Vigil.
Twenty-nine percent of respondents said they believe security incidents will continue to increase in 2023. Survey respondents attributed the increase in the number of physical security incidents last year to supply chain constraints, and fears of inflation and a recession.
While small- and medium-sized businesses are aware of and more prone to these risks, the constantly evolving threat landscape, exacerbated by the complexity of modern security devices, means that companies lack the expertise and resources to protect their assets, Anviz said.
That scenario is evidenced by over 70% of businesses in the Pro-Vigil survey reporting that they are unable to prevent asset damages despite implementing video surveillance.
Anviz noted that existing solutions require extensive hardware costs, and said its Secu365 platform minimizes hardware installment and maintenance costs to make security more affordable to smaller-sized facilities managers.
“We have created an all-in-one Cloud-based security solution that incorporates an alarm system to offer timely warnings, data encryption to strengthen cybersecurity, and a unified system that manages staff attendance and visitor access," Felix Fu, Product Manager of Secu365, said in the release.
In addition to threat monitoring, Secu365 can be used for attendance tracking and providing offloading footage to cloud services via both web-based and mobile applications. The company said the design aims to lower marginal costs compared to traditional video surveillance systems, which require users to set up local servers in multiple locations.
The technology features edge AI and deep-learning algorithms, which enables cameras to deliver perimeter monitoring, according to Anviz. The company also stated plans to provide new tools to SMEs in the future.
