Dive Brief:
- Doosan Bobcat North America is recalling its AirFX Finish Mower Deck attachments, the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission says in an alert.
- The attachments are all black and labeled with “AirFX” and either “72” or “61,” depending on the model. About 552 units have been sold in the U.S. and approximately 27 in Canada, the CPSC says.
- The decks “cannot be secured in the upright or tilted position by the locking pins during maintenance or service, posing a crush hazard,” the alert says.
Dive Insight:
In at least five incidents, people servicing the U.S.-made decks were unable to install locking pins to secure the decks in the upright or tilted position. No injuries have been reported, the CPSC said in the recall alert.
Owners of the recalled units should immediately inspect whether locking pins can be inserted while the deck is in the upright or tilted position during maintenance or service, the alert says. If they can’t be inserted, contact Doosan Bobcat, and it will provide information on when it can offer a free repair.
If the unit needs servicing in the meantime, owners are instructed to use two straps, each rated for 1,500 lbs., wrapped around each front tractor axle and secured to the mower deck.
Contact Doosan if you’re unable to obtain straps. They’ll be provided at no cost.
The units are the 72" AirFX, No. 7526575; 61" AirFX, No. 7526579; 61" AirFx Finish Mower, No. 7449223; and 72" AirFx Finish Mower, No.7447341.
The units retail for $5,200 to $5,500.
