As facility managers deal with aging assets, rising prices and a shrinking workforce, they are looking to artificial intelligence and other technological advances to significantly improve existing systems and generate new efficiencies. But the growth in AI applications is creating its own set of facility management problems for data centers. The energy needs of these facilities are driving focus in the market toward cooling systems that can handle the requirements of next-generation chips.

Many questions still hang overhead following President Donald Trump’s first executive orders, including what impacts they could have on energy, labor and tax policies, but facilities management experts are cautiously optimistic about the year to come.
