ISS has appointed Tim Dismond as chief operations officer of its North American business, the company announced Thursday.
Dismond previously held a number of leadership positions at top integrated facilities management and occupier services firms. He most recently acted as chief responsibility officer at CBRE, after serving as president of the firm’s global workplace solutions between 2015 to 2020.
“In my new role as COO for ISS North America, my immediate focus is to build on the strong foundation the company has established,” Dismond said in an email. “With North America’s significant growth potential, one of my first steps will be engaging with our teams on the ground to understand their strengths, challenges, and the specific needs of our clients.”
Dismond added that he plans to bring best practices from his past leadership experience to enhance operations and ensure outstanding workplace experiences. Dismond underscored that diversity, equity and inclusion have been a cornerstone of his leadership philosophy and that he will help ISS North America “ensure the built environment represents the diverse experiences of the communities it serves.”
ISS North America provides workplace and facility service solutions to more than 13,000 clients, managing over 350 million square feet in the region. The firm, which has over 20,000 employees and serves more than 180,000 meals a day, has generated $1.1 billion in revenue across North America, according to its website.
“The current workplace and facilities market is in a transformative period, especially in light of the lasting changes brought about by the pandemic. As everyone is well aware, corporate real estate executives are facing a historic moment as the office sector undergoes significant shifts. We view this shift as an opportunity to place a stronger emphasis on people and the experiences they have within the spaces where they work,” ISS North America CEO Steve Quick said.
Challenges facing the industry — including ongoing supply chain disruptions, rising costs and a wave of upcoming lease expirations — “present a unique opportunity to rethink how spaces are utilized and to reimagine the employee experience in ways that align with the evolving demands of the modern workforce,” Quick noted.
“Our approach is to enhance those daily experiences, ensuring that employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to do their best work—whether that means optimizing workplace environments or delivering exceptional services through seamless building technology or elevated cafes,” Quick said.
The Denmark-based facilities management firm announced it has also appointed Marjorie McCarthy as chief marketing officer of ISS North America. McCarthy most recently served as chief marketing officer of workplace strategy, design and construction firm Unispace Group, where she led the company’s post-COVID brand and marketing vision for workplace experience, per the release.
“Both Tim and Marjorie bring extensive experience in building customer-centric businesses in the commercial real estate space and offer proven track records of significant client retention and growth,” Quick said. “Over the next year, we are focused on amplifying what we do best—delivering top-tier integrated facilities management solutions and exceptional workplace experiences.”
