Dive Brief:
- Northrop Grumman has selected JLL to provide facilities management services for multiple sites across its portfolio.
- The real estate service firm’s aerospace and defense group will oversee execution and strategic sourcing across a range of facility services, including building engineering, electrical, elevator and HVAC maintenance, fire and life safety, cafe services, janitorial, landscaping and grounds maintenance, waste disposal and recycling, JLL said in a news release Monday.
- The initial phase of work with Northrop Grumman will be focused on driving efficiencies and cost savings through management and sourcing of facility suppliers, Tom Taylor, managing director of JLL’s aerospace and defense group, who is leading the initiative, told Facilities Dive. “Our long-term objective is to strategically partner with Northrop to support operations and drive efficiencies across all elements of its real estate portfolio,” Taylor said.
Dive Insight:
As part of the contract, JLL is deploying its computerized maintenance management system Corrigo, e-commerce platform JLL Marketplace, contract risk management platform Avetta and digital procurement and contract lifecycle management platform Jaggaer to boost efficiency for Northrop Grumman’s facilities management activities. This suite of technology tools will help the aerospace and defense firm manage and monitor facilities service agreements and drive savings in purchasing and sourcing, according to the release.
These solutions will be used to “leverage economies of scale in material purchasing more efficiently, manage workflow, and assess and manage supplier opportunities and costs,” Taylor said.
JLL’s aerospace and defense team will draw on its knowledge of government and U.S. Department of Defense requirements, best practices in A&D facility operations, management of secure environments, supply chain risks and opportunities, technology and cybersecurity to ensure “maximum efficiency and savings with no disruption to the mission,” Taylor told Facilities Dive.
JLL Senior Director Brian Sineo will serve as Northrop Grumman’s client account lead, per the release.
The partnership with Northrop Grumman comes on the heels of a recently announced contract with Tuskegee University, where JLL expressed its intent to use Corrigo to generate savings for the university.
