Dive Brief:
- Mainspring Energy has announced the first reseller partners in its newly reformed reseller sales channel to accelerate deployments of its fuel-flexible power generator solution, according to a news release Tuesday.
- The first reseller partners include Alternative Energy Development Group, Prismecs and Regatta Solutions. To lead Mainspring’s channel sales, the company has hired Wissam Balshe, former global director of new energy solutions at power systems firm Cummins, as senior director of channel partnerships. In the new role, Balshe will oversee Mainspring’s broader partner program, including strategic systems integrator relationships and an active referral partners program, the company said.
- "The launch of our channel marketing team and channel partner program signal an important step in Mainspring's growth," Adam Simpson, co-founder and chief product officer of Mainspring, said in a statement.
Dive Insight:
The reseller network builds on its existing partnerships, which include its purchase and finance relationship with NextEra Energy Resources and its recently announced partnership with Schneider Electric, Mainspring said. As part of the latter agreement, Schneider Electric is integrating Mainspring Energy’s power generation technology with its microgrid solution to provide power, energy resiliency and fuel flexibility for commercial and industrial customers.
The reseller program will help Mainspring to continue scaling installations of its Mainspring Linear Generator products across the U.S., as it seeks to expand its footprint in the commercial, industrial, biogas, data center and utility markets, according to the release.
Mainspring says its reseller program’s first partners are market leaders who have built businesses on engineering, developing and owning a variety of distributed energy resource projects. These span solar, combined heat and power, fuel cells, batteries, gas turbines and HVAC controls across a range of vertical markets, the company said.
“A strong reseller network is essential to success in the power generation industry," Balshe said in a statement. "We are actively working to combine the expertise and networks of Mainspring with those of our outstanding reseller partners to accelerate the adoption of linear generator technology and the global energy transition."
As part of its expansion, Mainspring also began powering the largest electric vehicle truck charging depot in the U.S., working with Prologis to develop an innovative charging solution and microgrid near the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, California. Located directly off the Harbor Freeway in Los Angeles, the microgrid uses 2.75 megawatts of fuel-flexible, hydrogen-ready linear generators paired with 18 megawatt hours of batteries to provide up to 9 MW of charging capacity, according to a May 23 news release.
