- The launch builds on Spacewell’s plans to provide a full SaaS solution for building design, construction and management — adding to its existing workplace and energy management products.
Dive Insight:
The maintenance platform is aimed at helping facility managers gain better control over their operations as organizations strategize how to meet new sustainability guidelines and rising economic pressures.
Spacewell Maintenance focuses on preventative maintenance, as well as prioritizing short- and long-term maintenance activity and expenditure planning, to ensure continued safety and operations in buildings. This highlights the ongoing blend of facility maintenance and management, with the integrated workplace management system market size expected to almost double by 2025 as facility managers attempt to gain insight into their building’s life cycles.
By more efficiently tracking maintenance operations, facility managers can predict and avoid component failures, and also gain valuable benchmarking data, which they can use to meet regulatory compliance measures and create long-term action plans.
“The rising importance of sustainability and the demand for cost reductions have upped the ante for a much more meaningful management of building operations and equipment, making the launch of Spacewell Maintenance an important one for customers looking to improve maintenance planning and delivery,” Joy Trinquet, industry analyst of smart buildings at research and consulting firm Verdantix, stated in the release.
Platform capabilities include running different scenarios to balance long-term maintenance with budgeting, a continuous view of expenditures versus planning, configurable corrective maintenance and work order management, skills-based resource and material availability allocation, inventory libraries and supplier management, according to Engineering.com.
The maintenance software can also create reports that provide historical data visualizations so facility managers can monitor performance and ensure regulatory compliance. Mobile work management features also enable maintenance staff to manage work orders, complete inspections, log time and monitor materials on the job.
While the maintenance planning and maintenance management segments of the software are currently available, a compliance module will be added later this year to help facility managers meet regulatory requirements and manage related activities, such as certification tracking and compliance reporting.
Spacewell Maintenance is the latest product launch for parent Nemetschek Group, which operates 13 product brands across four business units, including management and operations, architecture, engineering and construction, and media and entertainment.
